Central Library at Copley Square

Although it is a bit of an obvious choice, the iconic library is perfect for those who love to study in quiet, beautiful and historic spaces.

700 Boylston Street – Back Bay

Thinking Cup

As evidenced by the name, each of the Thinking Cup’s three locations are perfect for studying while treating yourself to a cup of coffee.

85 Newbury Street – Back Bay

165 Tremont Street – Downtown

236 Hanover Street – North End

Arnold Arboretum

For those who like to study outside, the Arboretum is a great place to study during warmer months, provided you don’t need Wi-Fi.

125 Arborway – Jamaica Plain

Charlesmark Hotel Lounge

Across the street from the Central Library, the Charlesmark Hotel houses a café on its right side with a short flight of stairs leading to an isolated lounge that is perfect for studying.

655 Boylston Street – Back Bay

Cava at Copley Square

A short walk away from Charlesmark, the basement of the Cava is typically quiet. Power your study sessions with your choice of a bowl or pita — the best brain food.

669 Boylston Street – Back Bay

Trident Booksellers & Café

Another spot in Back Bay, this tightly-packed hybrid café and bookstore located on the western end of Newbury Street is a great place to review material, pick up some new reads and live out your city kid dreams.

338 Newbury Street – Back Bay

Boston Athenaeum

One of the oldest independent libraries in the country, this location is perfect if you like history. Be aware of its two dollar entry fee, though!

10½ Beacon Street – Beacon Hill

Public Garden

The famed Public Garden is a beautiful place with many benches and trees, making it a great spot to study when the weather is nice (again, provided you don’t need Wi-Fi).

4 Charles Street – Downtown
